Setting Up Artwork for Print with Bleeds
“Bleed” is the area of a printed piece that extends beyond the trim line (usually 1/8-inch), and is trimmed off in post-production (bindery). This is typical for pieces produced on standard commercial printing presses.

For badges, however, the printing process is different, and the standard rules concerning bleeds differ accordingly.
On a badge press, artwork is set up 2 or more across the drum with no bleed between badges. After printing, the badges are cut apart.

When setting up art for badge printing, bleed is not needed. Artwork should end at the trim line, depending on the artwork (see below).
